Caleb Sunguti, will be the Roots Party of Kenya flagbearer in the upcoming Malava Constituency by-election, the party has revealed.

In a statement party leader George Wajackoyah confirmed Sunguti's nomination, highlighting that he would be the first parliamentary contender to vie under the Roots Party ticket.

Wajackoyah emphasized that Sunguti underwent a rigorous vetting process.

The by-election was declared following the death of Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi on Monday, February 17, 2025.

According to the statement, Sunguti holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi.

He pursued his MBA in Project Management at the University of Nairobi between 2010 and 2012.

Sunguti has been a senior lecturer at the Kenya School of Government, Nairobi Campus, for 13 years, specializing in Public Financial Management and Project Management.

His career in academia includes previous roles as a Business and Finance lecturer at Kitale National Polytechnic and KCA University. He has also worked as a senior manager at Telkom.

With a professional background spanning over 25 years in public affairs, Wajackoyah emphasized that Sunguti is well-equipped to serve the people of Malava Constituency effectively.
